Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Imaging (PACI)

What is PACI Match?

We are very excited to announce that, working with pediatric cardiac imaging fellowship program directors around the country, the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography (SOPE) is sponsoring a match for 4th year fellowships in Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Imaging (PACI) for positions to begin in the academic year 2025-2026. These

fellowships include those that offer advanced training in echocardiography, fetal cardiology, cardiac MRI, and/or cardiac CT.

 

The goals of the match system are to:

​

  1. Create a common, standardized process and timeline by which categorical fellows can apply to PACI fellowships

  2. Increase transparency in the application process 

  3. Make access to applicants more equitable among the fellowship programs and make access to fellowship programs more equitable among the applicants.

 

The match will be administered through SF Match (SF Match - Residency and Fellowship Matching Services ) and will utilize a common application. To be eligible for the PACI match, applicants should have completed or be scheduled to complete a categorical fellowship in pediatric cardiology in the US or a comparable international program prior to the start of the advanced cardiac imaging fellowship. Individual training programs may also have additional requirements. The PACI fellowship application period will start in July 2024 and end in November 2024, with rank lists due in December 2024. The match day will be in December 2024 and positions will begin

July 2025.

SF Match

The SF Match has provided residency and fellowship matching services to specialties and subspecialties across the spectrum of medicine.

Applicant Registration

  • Applicant registration begins.

  • Please note that although registration is open until the rank list deadline, applicants are encouraged to register as early as possible to allow time for application and interviews.

CAS Target Date

  • This is the Target Date for applicants to complete the requirements for application distribution.

  • This is NOT a deadline. Some programs accept applications at any time; others may set a deadline. It is the applicant's responsibility to contact training programs for individual deadline dates.

@ 12:00 PM (noon) PT Match Deadline

  • ALL rank lists must be submitted by 12:00 PM (noon) PT. After the deadline, rank list choices will be locked, and no changes can be made.

  • Any vacancies that remain after the match will be announced on the Immediate Vacancies page. Vacancy listings are managed by individual programs.
